Almqvist som dramatiker<br>i Sveriges Radio, 1951\u20131973.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Almqvist i etern.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Idag \u00e4r han fr\u00e4mst ih\u00e5gkommen f\u00f6r sina verk <a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\/titlar\/SamladeVerk6\/sida\/III\/etext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Drottningens juvelsmycke<\/em><\/a> (1834) och <em><a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\/titlar\/SamladeVerk21\/sida\/3\/etext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Det g\u00e5r an<\/a><\/em> (1839), men <a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carl Jonas Love Almqvist<\/a> (1793\u20131866) var en av den svenska litteraturens mest allsidiga f\u00f6rfattare. Hans liv och verk speglade tidens komplexa str\u00f6mningar: fr\u00e5n en gustaviansk hovkultur till en svallande romantik, mot realism, samh\u00e4llskritik och en livlig debatt kring liberala reformer. S\u00e5 vitt man vet sattes inget av hans dramer upp under hans livstid, och om texterna \u00f6ver huvud taget var t\u00e4nkta f\u00f6r scenen \u00e4r ovisst. Under n\u00e4stan hundra \u00e5r efter Almqvists d\u00f6d betraktades de fortfarande som ospelbara \u2013 som renodlade \u201dl\u00e4sdramer\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men s\u00e5 var det 1950-tal. Vad var det som gjorde att tiden \u00e4ntligen var mogen f\u00f6r Almqvist som dramatiker?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dramats f\u00f6rnyelse.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ragnar Josephson, som var chef f\u00f6r Dramaten 1948\u20131951, s\u00f6kte med ljus och lykta efter en stor svensk dramatik fr\u00e5n tiden f\u00f6re August Strindberg. H\u00e4r finns den l\u00f6ssl\u00e4ppta teatraliska leklusten sammanfl\u00e4tad med uppr\u00f6rdheten i ett revolution\u00e4rt patos. Verket pekar bak\u00e5t mot Shakespeare, men fram\u00e5t mot Strindberg.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/diktensmuseum\/august-strindberg-ett-dromspel-1962\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"8347\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Strindbergs <em>Dr\u00f6mspel<\/em><\/a> hade f\u00f6rst\u00e5s redan tidigare visat att s\u00e5dant man f\u00f6rr trott vara om\u00f6jligt att uppf\u00f6ra p\u00e5 en teaterscen ist\u00e4llet, genom normbrytande, dramaturgiska grepp, faktiskt lett till en efterl\u00e4ngtad f\u00f6rnyelse av teaterkonsten. Samtidigt hade tekniska landvinningar inom scentekniken m\u00f6jliggjort effekter och sceniska gestaltningar man tidigare bara kunnat dr\u00f6mma om.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00f6r Josephson f\u00f6ll allts\u00e5 valet nu p\u00e5<em> Amorina<\/em>. Efter premi\u00e4ren den 1 juni 1951 konstaterade Karl Vennberg: \u201dK\u00e4nner svensk teaterhistoria till n\u00e5got dj\u00e4rvare experiment? I ett brev f\u00f6rklarade Almqvist sin syn p\u00e5 verket som en klassisk tragedi:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\/titlar\/SamladeVerk8\/sida\/22\/etext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201d\u00c4nda sedan Aristoteles<\/a> hade man vant sig vid den besynnerliga \u00e5sigten, att endast f\u00f6rn\u00e4ma personer, Kungar, Prinsar, Hjeltar, Drottningar, eller \u00e5tminstone n\u00e5gon av adeln m\u00e5ste vara \u00e4mnet f\u00f6r tragedien. Jag finner, att <em>menniskan<\/em>, i hvilken samh\u00e4llsklass som h\u00e4lst, kan vara det. H\u00e4r \u00e4r det bonden <em>Jan Carlson<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Redan tidigt i Almqvists liv syntes uttrycken f\u00f6r hans sociala patos och mognande samtidskritik. Denna empati uppm\u00e4rksammades ocks\u00e5 av kritiken \u2013 som i \u00f6vrigt var en smula blandad. Men Almqvist blandade friskt in dramatiska framst\u00e4llningss\u00e4tt ocks\u00e5 i andra, mer episkt betonade verk. N\u00e4r <em>Amorina<\/em> kom ut 1839 var samtiden os\u00e4ker p\u00e5 hur boken skulle betecknas. Den kallades i en recension f\u00f6r b\u00e5de \u201dtragikomedi\u201d och \u201droman i dramatisk form och dramatisk anda\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genreproblematiken kan sannolikt ha bidragit till att h\u00e5lla <em>Amorina<\/em> borta fr\u00e5n scenen s\u00e5 l\u00e5ng tid. Man ans\u00e5g att texten var ospelbar, inte bara p\u00e5 grund av tekniska begr\u00e4nsningar utan minst lika mycket f\u00f6r att den trotsade dramats konventioner. Verkets ironiska karakt\u00e4r har gjort l\u00e4sarna os\u00e4kra p\u00e5 hur de ska f\u00f6rh\u00e5lla sig till det, n\u00e5got som Mortensen menar \u00e4r dess st\u00f6rsta svaghet \u2013 men ocks\u00e5 dess st\u00f6rsta styrka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e5let f\u00f6r romantikerna var inte prydligt ordnade separata m\u00e4sterverk i olika konstformer, utan det h\u00e4grande <em>allkonstverket<\/em>. Detta skulle utg\u00f6ra en m\u00f6tespunkt, en legering av alla konstformer. F\u00f6r Almqvist gav sk\u00f6nlitteraturen utrymme f\u00f6r detta. I <a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\/titlar\/SamladeVerk26\/sida\/255\/etext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201dKonsternas framtid\u201d<\/a> skrev han:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/litteraturbanken.se\/f%C3%B6rfattare\/AlmqvistCJL\/titlar\/SamladeVerk26\/sida\/589\/etext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201d\u00d6gat kan icke fatta tidens,<\/a> utan blott rummets fenomener. Det kan man naturligtvis bara spekulera i. Men att han var fascinerad av tekniska uppfinningar f\u00f6r scenisk framst\u00e4llning i sin egen tid \u00e4r belagt. Han kunde ibland f\u00e4sta st\u00f6rre uppm\u00e4rksamhet vid effekterna \u00e4n sj\u00e4lva ber\u00e4ttelsen. Vissa har ansett att Almqvists dramer, som \u00e4r s\u00e5 m\u00e4ttade av beskrivningar och anvisningar om det bildliga, blir lidande av detta faktum. Men \u00e4r inte detta ett f\u00f6r sn\u00e4vt perspektiv? Det \u00e4r ju, till syvende och sist, inte Almqvists illustrationer utan <em>text<\/em> som ska iscens\u00e4ttas \u2013 text, som i sig b\u00e4r p\u00e5 b\u00e5de bild och musik. Det \u00e4r i Almqvists ord som suggestionen och kraften bor, och teaterns visuella uttryck \u00e4r endast en tolkning av orden. Med orden i br\u00e4nnfokus l\u00e4mnas tolkningsf\u00e4ltet fritt f\u00f6r varje l\u00e4sare eller lyssnare.
