Det ska visa sig att denna uppfinning f\u00e5r oanade konsekvenser i den polisregerade V\u00e4rldsstaten som undertrycker alla former av personlighet och sj\u00e4lslig lidelse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I Karin Boyes roman <em>Kallocain<\/em> (1940) f\u00f6ljer vi kemisten Leo Kall, serumets upphovsperson, som lydigt verkar i makthavarnas tj\u00e4nst men med tiden inser de totalit\u00e4ra krafternas utpl\u00e5nande verkan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boye skrev romanen i en tid d\u00e5 m\u00f6rka krafter hotade Europas framtid. Fullskaligt krig utspelade sig vid andra sidan nationsgr\u00e4nsen. Det politiska tonl\u00e4get var uppskruvat s\u00e5v\u00e4l utom som inom landet. Under en genomresa av Tyskland och \u00d6sterrike hade Boye betraktat kontinentens dunkla f\u00f6rvandling p\u00e5 n\u00e4ra h\u00e5ll. Boyes radiopj\u00e4s <em>Hon som b\u00e4r templet<\/em> spelades till sist i P1 1953. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boye, som l\u00e4mnat jordelivet dryga decenniet tidigare, gick miste om denna seger. Men en seger var det likv\u00e4l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kanske v\u00e4cktes nu ett starkare intresse f\u00f6r Boye hos Radiotj\u00e4nst. Under 1950-talet blev hon \u00e4n en g\u00e5ng den mest uppl\u00e4sta lyrikern i <em>Dagens dikt<\/em>, och sex \u00e5r efter h\u00f6rspelspremi\u00e4ren stod det klart att \u00e4ven <em>Kallocain <\/em>skulle ta radiodramats form.
